Adelle “Dolly” Irene Rougeau, 94 of Indianapolis, died Tuesday, May 9, 2023. She was born on November 10, 1928, in Mackville, Wisconsin.
Dolly was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She volunteered at the adult daycare center in Naperville, Illinois. She was girl scout leader at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a den mother for the boy scouts in Indianapolis. She taught arts and crafts at the women’s prison in Indianapolis. She was active in bible study at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. She and her husband were dance instructors for Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Wisconsin.
Dolly won many blue ribbons for her famous apple pies, needlework, quilting and braided rugs.
Dolly is proceeded in death by her parents, George and Delia Hofacker Reiland, beloved husband Wellesley “Wes” Rougeau, son Rick Rougeau, son-in-law Bill Hussion, and 10 siblings. She is survived by her children Lynn Barker, Cherie Hussion, Cindy Connor, Russell (Sandra) Rougeau, sister Jeanne Beschta, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation for Dolly will be Thursday, May 18 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM. The burial will be in Calvary Cemetery following the mass.
Memorials in Dolly’s name may be made to Franciscan Hospice House, 8414 Franciscan Ln, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237 or to the donor’s choice.
