Anna L. Dillane

Anna L. Dillane, 101, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 2, 2024. Anna was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Herbert & Goldie Matthews on February 16, 1922. Anna married the love of her life, Matthew J. Dillane at St. John Catholic Church in Indianapolis on March 4, 1944. They were married for 61 years and had 3 wonderful children. Anna was a long-time parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church and found great comfort in her faith. She was a master seamstress, loved to crochet, knit and quilt. She enjoyed cooking family meals, working outside in her garden and bowling. She was referred to by her grandchildren as “Grandma Great”. Anna was a beautiful soul inside and out. She could often be found volunteering her time to those less fortunate and enjoyed giving back to her community. Anna was blessed with a full and healthy life. She was just 14 days short of her 102^nd birthday. 

Anna is survived by her loving daughters; Susan M. (Michael) Powell and Terrie Dillane, grandchildren; Lisa (Christopher Mentzer) Henthorn, Shannon (Scott) Guenthner, Stephen (Suz) Dillane, Michael Dillane, Slavi Dillane, and Toni Dillane, along with 11 great grandchildren and her sister; Ethel M Gahimer.

Anna is preceded in death by her loving husband; Matthew J. Dillane, son; Matthew J. Dillane Jr. and infant daughter; Kathryn Jo Dillane.

Anna’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at O’Riley Branson Funeral Service & Crematory (6107 S. East St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46227) from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 10:00am at St. Mark Catholic Church (535 E. Edgewood Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana 46227). Burial will be immediately following at Calvary Cemetery.
