Anna Mae Shaw, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in their Yellow Rose Unit. Born March 28, 1925 in Indianapolis, Anna was the daughter of Carl and Mamie (Warrenburg) Yetter. She was united marriage to Joseph H. Shaw for 57 years until he preceded her in death in 2009.
A faithful Catholic, Anna was formerly a member of St. James Catholic Church and currently a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She was a proud member of the St. Augustine Guild at the Little Sisters of the Poor. Anna was a dedicated homemaker for most of her life. While raising her three boys, she served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts. She also worked as an administrative assistant in the carpet department at J.C. Penny for several years.
Anna is also preceded in death by her sister, Viola Owen of Tupelo, Mississippi.
Survivors include her three sons, Dwight (Julie) Shaw of McKinney, Texas, Christopher (Christine) Shaw of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Brian (Joanne) Shaw of Indianapolis; and seven grandchildren, Emily (Todd) Beaubouef, Nick (Kelsey) Shaw, Whitney (Chad) Ebert, Austin, Spencer, Harrison, and Grant Shaw.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Anna Mae Shaw from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019 in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. Morning prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2905 Carson Avenue, Indianapolis. Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Little Sisters of the Poor or Good Shepherd Catholic Church; envelopes will be provided.
