Bonnie J. Trefry, 91, of Greenwood, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018.
She was born August 18, 1926 in Indianapolis to the late William Hobart and Minnie Lee (Radcliff) Shaw. Bonnie graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1944. On March 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Arthur H. Trefry, Jr. and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2010 after 63 years of marriage.
Bonnie worked for Walker Research and as a service representative for Indiana Bell. She was a member of St. Jude and Our Lady of the Greenwood Parishes.
Bonnie was also preceded in death by her siblings, William H. “Sonny” Shaw, Margaret Mosier, Dorothy Kirk, and Donna Shaw.
She is survived by her six children, Nancy (Rick) Miller, Arthur (Deborah) Trefry, III, Timothy (Crystal) Trefry, Theresa (Clyde) Evans, Cheri (Timothy) Moschell, and Dawn (Joseph) Bruce; 13 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Bonnie J. Trefry from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. Afternoon prayers will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home followed by 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Alzheimer’s Association or Our Lady of the Greenwood Parish; envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
