Brenda J. (Staab) Horsley, 56, Indianapolis, passed away after a brief illness January 9, 2018. Brenda was born December 4, 1961, in Indianapolis, to the late Leonard J. Betty Jane (Canada) Staab.
She graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 1978 and was employed for 20 years at Anthem as a claims specialist. Brenda was a 25-year breast cancer survivor, enjoyed fishing, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino, especially to Las Vegas. Brenda’s best friend was Mary King and her favorite canine companions were her two miniature dachshunds, Peanut and Ellie Mae.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Allen Staab.
Survivors include a son, Shawn (Fae) Horsley; daughter, Kristal (Joe) Sweeney; brothers, Tony, Dan, and Michael Staab; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Brenda will begin at 7 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, with calling there from 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
