Celeste Armstrong Scheibler, 95, Greenwood, passed away peacefully May 22, 2017. Mrs. Scheibler was born August 29, 1921, in Lynn, Indiana, to the late Foster and Teresa (Cotter) Armstrong.
She graduated from Morton High School and later attended Indiana Business College. She and her late husband, Robert, were innovative in real estate long before flipping houses became popular. She enjoyed a successful career in real estate and was also co-owner of the Dairy Queen in Richmond. Additionally, Mrs. Scheibler was a devoted volunteer with the American Cancer Society. After moving to Greenwood more than 20 years ago, she became a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Scheibler and her brother, Fr. Daniel Armstrong.
Survivors include her sons, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Mark Scheibler (Gale) and Scott Scheibler (Malya); daughter-in-law, Ilse Scheibler; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 24, 2017, 11 a.m. in the chapel at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, with visitation there from 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
