Charles Leslie Stoner, 72, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home March 14, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Stoner was born November 21, 1947, in Franklin, to the late Leslie Wray and Pearl (Wise) Stoner.
He proudly served in the United Sates Army with Special Forces and was a graduate of Ball State University. Chuck enjoyed a 30 year career as a process engineer with the Allison Division of General Motors. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Chuck was avid an outdoorsman and was very content walking in the woods. He also loved horses and always looked forward to visiting them where they were stabled, especially Serena. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his strong will, yet very kind and loving nature.
Survivors include his wife, Toni Marie (Schaedel) Stoner, to whom he was united in marriage April 27, 1974; children, Leslie Ann (Kyle) Dakin, Brent Robert (Janell) Stoner, Sr. and Matthew C. Stoner; four grandchildren, Brent Robert Stoner, Jr., Charles William Stoner, Zane Ayden Dakin, and Marleigh Marie Stoner.
Due to the restrictions being imposed for the Covid-19 Pandemic, Visitation will be private Friday at the O’Riley Funeral Home. A private family service will be observed Saturday. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
