Clara Hyle Spaeth, 74, Indianapolis, passed away April 18, 2016. She was born in Columbus, OH on November 4, 1941 to Theodore and Rita Casserly Hyle. Clara earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing and worked as an operating room nurse for many years and also as a registered nurse in private practice. A loving Mom and proud grandmother, she supported and advocated for sports, education and religious opportunities for the developmentally disabled. She was very active in special religious development (SPRED) through the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and supported her son, Andy, through years of Special Olympics. She also enjoyed reading, music, playing piano, and spending time with her many friends from church. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Andrew; daughter, Elizabeth; and granddaughter, Isabella Hope. She is survived by her son, George (Julie); daughter, Cara Geary (Kevin); grandchildren, Joseph, Benjamin, Aaron, Jenna Spaeth, Christian Geary; sister, Rita Wetterstroem; brothers, Ted, Frank, and Bob Hyle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home where morning prayers will be said on Friday at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Indianapolis Children's Choir or Special Olympics. Online condolences may be shared with the family at orileyfuneralhome.com.
