Daniel J. "Dano" McKenna

Daniel J. “Dano” McKenna, 55, a lifetime resident of Beech Grove, passed away at his home surrounded by his family after a long, courageous battle with his health. Daniel was born on May 27, 1964 in Beech Grove to the late Michael F. McKenna, Sr. and Carolyn (Pierle) Sowers McKenna.

Daniel was a graduate of Beech Grove High School. Upon graduating high school Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Army. Daniel was raised in the Catholic church and attended Holy Name Catholic Church in Beech Grove. Being an avid sports fanatic, Daniel enjoyed watching his favorite teams play, the Minnesota Vikings and the Cincinnati Reds. Daniel loved being surrounded by his friends.

Along with both of his parents, Daniel is preceded in death by a brother, Dwayne S. Sowers.

Survivors include his siblings, Carrie L. Wagoner, Debra A., Susan M., Mike F., Jr., and John P. (Gretchen Armstrong) McKenna; a sister-in-law, Nancy Sowers; a great nephew; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. in the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 North 17th Avenue, Beech Grove.
