Della M. Hoereth, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Della was born in New York on March 4, 1938, to the late Patrick and Helen Cotter. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Bob, and her sister, Helen.
She grew up in the Bronx where she attended Saint Catharine Academy before moving to Indianapolis in 1956 and attending Butler University.
Della met the love of her life and best friend, Bob, in the eastside Senior CYO. They married on June 3, 1961 and lived happily ever after for 62 years.
She spent most of her adult life as a stay at home mom, raising their four children and keeping an impeccable home. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper prior to and after raising her children.
Della was a faithful member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church where she volunteered for many things over the past 57 years.
She was an avid bowler and card player. She spent many an afternoon playing bridge and other games with her friends, ladies groups and couples groups.
She enjoyed playing games at home with her family, doing the morning crossword puzzle, having her hair done every Friday, going out to eat, traveling, reading a good Danielle Steele book and watching her Hallmark movies. She loved attending all athletic events her kids were a part of.
Della is survived by her loving husband, Bob, her daughters: Susan Hoereth, Diane (Hoereth) Metz (Robert), her sons: Anthony Hoereth (Jennifer), Tom Hoereth (Kim) and her three grandchildren: Zach Hoereth, Megan Metz and Kyle Metz, along with many nieces and nephews.
Della’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023, 3 to 8 p.m., in the
O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory and from 10 – 11:30 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2023, in the Narthex at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., in the church. The Mass will also be streamed by visiting https://vimeo.com/event/3742270. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Barnabas Catholic Church or to Roncalli High School Visit www.ORileyBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.
