Diane F. Throckmorton

Diane F. Throckmorton, 82, of Greenwood, passed away on December 15, 2019 in Indianapolis. Diane was born on September 1, 1937 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove to the late Marcellus and Henrietta (Bartel) Arvin. On November 3, 1956 Diane wed Robert “Bob” J. Throckmorton in St. Bernadette Catholic Church; Bob survives.

Diane attended St. Mary Academy and Arsenal Technical High School graduating in 1955. A dedicated wife and mother, Diane spent many years taking care of her family as they moved across the country. The Throckmorton family took up residency in many towns such as: Arlington Heights, Illinois, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Omaha, Nebraska before finally settling back down in Greenwood, Indiana for the last 21 years.

Diane was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, previously she was very active in St. Edna Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Diane was known for her love of online shopping and QVC; she could usually be found on her computer either shopping or playing games. Described as bubbly, humorous, and stubborn Diane had an excellent personality. Family, friends, and her Westie, Maggie, were of the upmost importance to Diane, and she will be missed by all.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rosemary Reinking.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Robert J. “Bob” Throckmorton; children, Bob (Cindi) Throckmorton of Castaic, California and Karen (Mark) Dulaney of Middleboro, Massachusetts; granddaughters, Brittany and Shelby Armstrong, Megan (Brandin) McClay, Alexandra, Erika, Julianne, and Jessica Throckmorton; great grandchildren, Cameron and Connor McClay; a brother, Ronald Arvin; a host of nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 9:00-10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 South Meridian Street, Greenwood. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at the church at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday. Inurnment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis. Final care and cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis.
