Donald J. Bowling, 88, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 11, 2016. He was born in Brownstown, IN on March 28, 1928 to Fred J. and Ora (Gilkey) Bowling. Don was a graduate of Purdue University and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired as president of Bowling Computer Services. Don will be remembered for his love of the Catholic Faith and the Blessed Eucharist as well as his special devotion to St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy. He enjoyed family gatherings, get togethers, and hanging with his grandchildren while attending their many activities. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth “Marybeth” Bowling; son, Donald; sisters, Anne Rick, Jane Gariety; daughter-in-law, Tina Bowling. He is survived by his children, Charlie (Jeanette), Harold (Samantha), Joe (Patty), Michael, Cathy Jolley (Mont), Jeanie Adair (Tom), Mary McCoy (Brian); 21 grandchildren; sister, Mary Durbin; brothers, Dick and Jack Bowling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. in St. Mark Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. with prayers of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy at 6 p.m. in Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home where prayers will be said on Monday at 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
