Donna Jean Barrickman

Donna Jean Barrickman, 92, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away September 6, 2021. Mrs. Barrickman was born September 21, 1928, in New Castle, to the late Harvey and Maude (Rigney) Ryan. She married the late John G. Barrickman on November 7, 1948, and he preceded her in death November 4, 2013.

After her graduation from high school, she attended Ball State University. Donna worked as the head of payroll for Blue Cross & Blue Shield for 30 years. She had been a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks. She and John enjoyed retirement by spending a number of years in Myrtle Beach and also in Florida. It was during this time of her life that Donna took up golf and began playing in various golf leagues. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Donna was a member of the Bargersville Christian Church. She will be fondly remembered by her loving family and friends for her generosity, kindness, and independent nature.

In addition to her parents and her husband of 65 years, she was preceded in death by brothers, Sherwood and Jim Ryan.

Survivors include her sons, David (Cindi) Barrickman of Bargersville and Mark (Kathleen) Barrickman of Camby; brother, Patrick Ryan; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.

Donna’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 10, 2021, at the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, 10 am until the time of the service at 12 Noon.
