Dorothy E. Armour, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away suddenly on January 23, 2019 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis. Born February 9, 1923, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Robert and Violet (Randall) Keller. On June 28, 1941 she was united in marriage to George D. Armour and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1995.
After her children were grown, Dorothy proudly worked in sales at JoAnn Fabrics for many years. She was a faithful member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Harvey Martin; her granddaughter, Kristine M. Armour; and two sisters, Lucille Bryan and Betty Lohman.
Survivors include her children Janice E. Martin of Birmingham, Alabama, George Michael “Mike” (Judy) Armour of Indianapolis, Gary D. Armour of Indianapolis, Julie A. (James) Fleming of Charleston, West Virginia, Jeanne L. Foster of Indianapolis, James K. “Jim” (Rocky) Armour of New Palestine, Kelly J. (Cindy) Armour of Carmel, and Scott W. (Karen) Armour of Westfield; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Dorothy E. Armour from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to St. Jude Catholic Church or Progress House; envelopes will be available at the church.
