Douglas Lee Stevenson

Douglas Lee Stevenson, 84 of Indianapolis, died Thursday November 17, 2022. Douglas was born on November 13, 1938, in Lawrenceville, Illinois to the late Burl and Myrtle (Houchin) Stevenson, where he was raised with his six siblings, Betty Gallagher, Irma Jean Morjar, Harold Stevenson, Leroy Stevenson, Eugene Stevenson and Robert Stevenson. On February 4, 1961, Douglas was united in marriage to JoAnne Pero in Shawneetown, Illinois.

Douglas served in the U.S. Navy. Douglas worked for 32 years with Navistar in their finance department. After retiring he became a full-time nanny for his grandsons. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandsons.

Douglas is survived by his children Michael (Amy) Stevenson, April (Scott) Haley, grandsons Brandon Stevenson, Maxwell Stevenson, Jacob Haley, Nathan Stevenson.

His is preceded in death by his wife JoAnne Stevenson

Visitation for Douglas will be Friday,, November 25 from 6 PM - 8 PM at O’Riley Branson Funeral Service and Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 26 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Garden, Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana; envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
