Ernestina A. Maio

Ernestina A. Maio, age 91, passed away at St. Francis Hospice House on February 6, 2021. Ernestina was born in Indianapolis on January 16, 1930 to the late Domenico and Maria (Colenne) Maio.

Ernestina retired as a District Accounting Manager from Indiana Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) after 40 years of service. She was a faithful member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church.

Along with her parents, Ernestina was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Curry, Jr.; her older brothers, Anthony (Trieste) Maio and Samuel (Rose Mary) Maio; and nephews, Michael A. Maio, John Anthony Maio, and Cody H. West.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Mary Rose (Joe) Rode, Antoinette (Don) Maio, Joseph A. Maio, Patty (Dan) Dudgeon, and Gina (Ronald) West; numerous great nieces and nephews; and her best friend and co-worker, Ann Turner.

Per Ernestina’s request, services will be observed privately. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, and entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Please visit www.ORileyFuneralHome.com to leave an online condolence for the Maio family.
