Evelina & Raymond Kruse

Evelina C. Kruse, 93, passed away on November 26, 2022. Evelina was born on December 24, 1928, in Panama to the late Aquilino and Marcelina (Concepcion) Cervantes. Evelina came to America when she was 19, bringing her brothers and sisters with her. She officially became a United States citizen on September 19, 1972. On February 10, 1973, she wed the late Raymond J. Kruse in Indianapolis. Evelina worked at RCA for 15 years as a line technician. She also worked as a nurse’s aide for numerous years in Indiana and Florida.

Raymond J. “Ray” Kruse, 78, passed away on March 7, 2016, in Dunedin, Florida. Ray was born on April 23, 1937, to the late Raymond and Dorothy (King) Kruse. He worked as a machinist for numerous years at organizations such as Diamond Chain and later became self-employed. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Evelina loved cooking her native Spanish food, fishing, and gardening. Ray and Evelina enjoyed going to flea markets, spending time with family as much as possible, dancing together, traveling, and of course taking Jack (their dog) everywhere they went. The pair enjoyed 30 years of residency in Dunedin, Florida. They lived in Indianapolis, then moved to their farm in Nineveh, Indiana prior to moving to Florida.

Evelina is survived by her sister, Nivia Ross (Indianapolis); brothers, Ocilino, Nelson, and Gabriel Concepcion (all of Panama), and Roger Concepcion (Indianapolis). She considered her nephew, Bill Ross, and nieces, Evelyn, and Marcy, like her own children, along with numerous other nieces and nephews. Ray is survived by his sisters, Margaret and Mindy, and brothers, Tommy, Johnny, and Charlie.

A Life Celebration® visitation honoring Ray and Evelina will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., in the chapel at O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. A memorial service celebrating Ray and Evelina will begin at the conclusion of visitation at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home on Thursday.
