Geraldine "Gerry" F. Wright

Geraldine “Gerry” F. Wright, age 89, died on April 5, 2023, after a short illness.  She was born on January 28, 1934 to the late John and Anne (Mennel) Gray in Indianapolis.   She attended Sacred Heart Elementary and High School graduating in 1951.  After graduation, she first worked at Indiana Bell Telephone Company.  After passing the Civil Service exam, Gerry took a secretarial position at the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis where she worked for 13 years before retiring in 1965 to raise her family.  Mutual friends introduced her to David Wright whom she married in 1964.  They were married for 59 years.  Gerry was an active member of the St. Barnabas Catholic Church where she and her husband became members in 1968.  She was also active in many Right To Life organizations and volunteered at Riley Hospital for Children in the 1980’s and 90’s.  Gerry was preceded in death by her son, David A. Wright.  She is survived by her husband David, her daughter Anne (Joseph) Chaney and three grandchildren, Nicole, Adam and Lauren Chaney.

Visitation for Gerry will be Friday, April 14 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St Barnabas Catholic Church 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46217.  Rosary will be said at 10:45 AM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM.  Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
