Harry A. Bray, 81, lifelong Indianapolis resident, passed away April 20, 2023 surrounded by his family. Mr. Bray was born January 25, 1942, to the late Harry A. and Vivian (Sharkey) Bray. He married Marlayna (Lauricia) Bray on June 14, 1977, and she survives, along with their two children, Nicholas and Vivien Alexsis (Hari).
Harry graduated from Cathedral High School and enjoyed a 30-year career with Western Electric. A faithful and devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and active with the church’s faith sharing small group. Harry was an outdoorsman who enjoyed nature and took great pride in caring for his lawn and landscape. In his retirement years, he spent time restoring cars. Above all, Harry was a devoted family man whose memory will be forever cherished by his loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph Bray, Stephen Bray, and Patricia Schwelka.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, Marlayna, Nicholas and Vivien, survivors include children, Michael Bray and Rochelle Young; grandchildren, Yash, Carissa and Grace; great grandchildren, Jordan and Alana, along with several nieces and nephew.
Friends and family will gather for visitation Tuesday, April 25, 2023, 5 to 7 p.m., at O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2023, in St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
