Although she lost her mother early in life, she enjoyed a happy childhood in Lafayette as well as Wapakoneta, OH. She enrolled at Purdue University, concentrating in home economics, where she met her husband, Robert H. They moved to the Southside of Indianapolis in 1948 and Henrietta had two more children, Mary Ellen Lawrence Krudy and Terrence W. Lawrence (deceased). The family attended St. Mark Catholic School and Church where Henrietta taught for 25 years-even substituting until the age of 77. She loved children and enjoyed trying to make a positive impact on their lives. She was named "Teacher of the Year" on two occasions at St. Mark and even had a previous student visit the day of her death. She was highly regarded by both her students and their parents as evidenced by the hundreds of cards she received on her 100th birthday. Henrietta played golf weekly at the Lake Shore County Club and El Dorado Country Club. She was an avid Bridge player and member of several Bridge groups, never missing a "Bridge Party" at one of the surrounding churches! She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and her niece's family, the Kegleys. Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Lawrence, Sr.; her son, Terrence W. Lawrence; three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her son, Robert H. Lawrence, Jr. (Iris) of Navarre, FL. and her daughter, Mary Ellen Krudy (Thomas A.).
