Janice Donzella Calloway

April 17, 1950 — December 13, 2016

Janice Donzella Calloway was born April 17, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Raymond and Virginia Carson Woods. She was the third eldest born from this union. Early in life, Janice had dreams of joining the Air Force. She attended Woodward and Hughes High School, where she met Eugene Calloway. Janice gave birth to Shirley Virginia Woods on August 24, 1965. Janice and Eugene Calloway were joined in holy matrimony shortly before the birth. Janice always worked numerous jobs and found out quickly that she had a niche for sewing. She worked for several textile companies before landing a job with General Motors in the early 1970’s. She worked for the Norwood General Motors Plant until she was laid off in 1984. On August 26, 1985, her first grandchild, Kenetra Katora Woods, was born. Janice decided to raise her as her own. In 1988, General Motors called Janice to come back to work in a different location, Indianapolis, IN. She traveled back and forth between Cincinnati and Indianapolis before eventually moving to Indianapolis in 1992. She worked there until her retirement in 2004. Janice was always fashionable and she loved leather. She was an avid sports fan and spent her spare time fishing, playing solitaire and studying the bible. Janice was called home to be with God on December 13, 2016 at 66 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Virginia Carson Woods and brother, Frederick Woods. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Woods and step-son, Donald Stone, Jr.; grandchildren, Kenetra Woods, Derrick Wilson, Janika Woods, Latifah Gray, Kwame Gray, Denzel Davis and Denaye Davis; great-grandchildren, Emari Wilson, Kalese Gray, Skylin Howard and 3 expected grandchildren; sisters, Ramona Banks, Roslyn Blythe, Donna Dunson and Doris Woods; brother, Earl Woods and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. She will truly be missed.

Psalm 37:1-5

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the

workers of iniguity.

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou

shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
