Kathleen Cecile Reed

Kathleen Cecile Reed, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on January 12, 2025, at 9:13 AM at the Franciscan Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on February 10, 1938, in Waukegan, Illinois.

As a dedicated bookkeeper, Kathleen spent many years contributing her skills and expertise, all the while embodying a spirit of giving that left a lasting mark on those around her. She was more than just a professional; her commitment to supporting and uplifting her community was one of her proudest accomplishments. Her giving heart set an example for her family and all who knew her.

Kathleen had a passion for reading, often losing herself in the pages of a good book. She also cherished watching old movies, finding joy in the classic stories that shaped her love for film. Each moment spent immersed in her interests added a special spark to her days, experiences that she cherished and shared with her loved ones.

She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to thrive through her cherished family. Kathleen is survived by her sons, Chris (Diane) Reed and Larry (Angie) Reed, step children Aaron (Audry) Reed, Ardith Conely, Suzy Fortress as well as 11 beloved grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The joy she found in her family was evident in every gathering, and her warmth will forever be felt in their hearts.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Clifton Reed. She was also preceded by her parents, Lawrence and Hortense Sieffert Adams, and her five siblings. The memories they created together are now treasures, held dear by those who remember her kindness and laughter.

Services for Kathleen will be private. Her cremains will be buried alongside her husband at a later date at the East Midway Cemetery in London Mills, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Kathleen’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
