Kenneth R. Kerst

December 23, 1943 — February 24, 2017

Kenneth R. Kerst, 73, Indianapolis, passed away February 24, 2017. Mr. Kerst was born December 23, 1943, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert and Eleanor Kerst.

Kenny graduated from Attica High School and attended Herron Art School. He worked for many years for IPTC Bus Company, formerly Metro Bus. Always one to stay busy, he worked for Williams Dental during his retirement years. Kenny was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church. He enjoyed collecting model cars and was an avid Indiana Pacers and White Sox fan. Above all, he was a loyal family man who always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth L. Wright, Jr. and one sister, Doris Tribby.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Ann Kerst, to whom he was united in marriage December 16, 1983; sons, Michael Kerst (Terry) and David K. Kerst (Angela); daughters, Teresa Rominger (Gary) and Dawn Emberton (Dave); sister, Ruth Price; grandchildren, LeeAnne, Maddie, David, Jr., Samantha, Andrew, Lauren, Heather, Meghan, and Dylan; three great grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 4, 2017, 10 a.m., in St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2017, in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street (US Hwy 31 South), where morning prayers will be said on Saturday at 9:30 prior to Mass. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
