Kerry T. Moriarty, 66, of Indianapolis, IN passed away June 29, 2021. He was born in Indianapolis to the late Thomas and Patricia Sue (Stevens) Moriarty. Kerry graduated from Southport High School in 1972 and he attended IUPUI where he studied chemistry.
Kerry was a water treatment specialist for Living Waters Company for over 25 years. He attended St. Mark Catholic Church and was a dedicated Boy Scout, earning the top rank of Eagle Scout and later becoming a Scout Master. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and prestigiously served as Grand Knight. He was an avid fisherman, but his real passion was cooking for others. Kerry proudly volunteered his time and resources for many years to serve meals to those who serve others, including the Sisters of St. Benedict. He loved preparing meals for large crowds and his barbeque ribs were infamous.
Kerry will be fondly remembered as a person who energetically did quiet acts of service for others. His home was always open in emergencies or if a person just needed a place to stay or visit. He was a fierce protector and loyal friend. Quick witted with a lively imagination, he made people laugh with his stories, jokes, and pranks, infallibly flashing his twinkling blue eyes and smile. He was a good listener and problem solver. Kerry will be remembered for his larger-than-life persona and dearly missed by those who knew him.
Kerry is survived by his daughter, Erin M. (Keenyn) Smith; son, Paul T. Moriarty; grandchildren, Elijah Moriarty, Dylan Moriarty, Kaylin Moriarty, Elaina Moriarty, Norah Smith, and Stori Smith; sisters, Patricia (Tom) Janitz, and Joan (Jay) Tutino; and brothers, Steven (Nancy) Moriarty, Daniel (Melinda) Moriarty, and John Moriarty. He was preceded in death by his brother Sean Moriarty.
