Laura Goff, of Indianapolis, a beloved mother, and friend, passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on October 2, 1962, Laura’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering kindness, independence, and vibrant spirit. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Laura spent a significant part of her career dedicated to serving the State of Indiana, later taking her talents to the Federal level where she worked for the Department of Defense as a computer programmer. A proud graduate of Ball State University, she honed her skills in Computer Science and displayed an unmatched work ethic throughout her professional life. Laura was not only knowledgeable in her field, but she also inspired those around her with her passion for what she did.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Laura’s heart was truly dedicated to her family and her passions. She shared a special bond with her son, Skyler, and together they enjoyed countless memorable trips to destinations such as San Diego, Toronto, and Chicago. Their adventures were filled with laughter and cherished memories, highlighting the close relationship they shared.
Laura's love for music and art was evident in the colorful atmosphere of her home, adorned with her own artwork and her cherished collection of T-shirts. She found joy in the melodies of U2 and often indulged in the delightful episodes of the Great British Baking Show. Her affinity for “Happy Colors” reflected her vibrant personality, as she embraced life with enthusiasm and flair.
In quieter moments, Laura found solace and joy in thrift shopping and antiquing, often discovering hidden treasures that brought her delight. She was an avid animal lover, and her home was a sanctuary for her beloved kitties—Smokey, Mowgli, and Sqeakers—who brought her companionship and happiness.
Laura will be remembered as a kind and compassionate soul, whose strength and independence inspired many. Her laughter and love touched the hearts of those around her, leaving a profound impact that will resonate for years to come.
Laura is survived by her loving son; Skyler Goff, and close friends; Deniese & Denny Heidelberger.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on January 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at O’Riley - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, located at 6107 S East St, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
As we gather to celebrate Laura’s extraordinary life, we will remember the warmth she brought into our lives and the colorful legacy she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
