Linda J. Huey, a spirited individual known for her vibrant personality and zest for life, passed away on November 14, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on July 23, 1952, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
A true spitfire, Linda enjoyed a variety of interests and hobbies that reflected her creative nature. Her culinary skills brought joy to her friends, while her passion for gardening turned her home into a beautiful haven filled with flourishing plants and flowers. Linda had a particular fondness for animals, especially her cherished cats, who provided companionship and comfort throughout her life.
Among her proudest accomplishments, Linda fondly recalled the delight of dressing up as a witch each Halloween and giving treats to the neighborhood children. Her role as the Easter Bunny at Rosegate Village brought smiles and laughter, showcasing her love for community and children. She enjoyed singing karaoke and singing with her church choir and at nursing homes.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Emma Jean Bochter Surman. She is survived by a circle of friends whose lives she touched with her exuberance and affection.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on November 19, 2024, at St. Mark Catholic Church located at 535 E. Edgewood Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227. Burial will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery.
