Linda S. (Steadham) Malham

October 17, 1962 — September 17, 2021

Linda S. (Steadham) Malham, 58, of Greenwood, passed away suddenly at her residence on September 17, 2021. Linda was born in Beech Grove to the late Charles and Mildred “Mickey” (Spect) Steadham on October 17, 1962. Linda grew up attending St. Catherine Catholic Grade School in Indianapolis.

A friend to all in high school, Linda graduated in the class of 1981 at Roncalli High School in Indianapolis where she was a part of student council and numerous other activities. Upon graduating, Linda began working for Meridian Mutual Insurance as an insurance claims adjustor. This company later became State Auto Insurance; Linda was currently employed here and had just reached the milestone of 40 years of dedicated service.

When not working, Linda could be found cheering on any of her numerous sports teams she enjoyed watching such as, the Indianapolis Colts, the Alabama Crimson Tide, the New York Yankees, or Denny Hamlin in Nascar and Graham Rahal in IndyCar. An avid reader, Linda could often be found with a book in her hand. She treasured every moment she could spend time with her family, but especially her precious granddaughter, Zoey. Making memories with her family was paramount in Linda’s life. She truly enjoyed travelling, but specifically to any destination that had a beach; she loved spending time at the ocean.

Linda was a confidant to many friends and family members, but you always knew that if you came to her for advice you would need to accept the loving honesty that came along with it. Her generous heart of gold and love for others was unparalleled; Linda will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, GaGa, and friend to all of those she leaves behind. She will be greatly missed.

Along with both of her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her infant daughter, April Metzler.

On June 17, 2006 Linda wed Mark D. Malham in Las Vegas, Nevada who survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Amy (Greg) Combs; sweet granddaughter, Zoey Combs; Siblings, Cindy Steadham, Chris (Laura) Steadham, Tony Steadham, and Joe (Nancy) Steadham; sister-in-law, Julie Malham North; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
