Lori J. Mercer, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend peacefully departed this world on November 7, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 14, 1960, in Tennessee, Lori's spirit graced the lives of many as she joyfully fostered open and loving relationships throughout her journey.

Lori dedicated her life to helping others as a Bereavement Coordinator with IU Health Hospice. Her compassionate heart was evident in her work, providing comfort and support to countless families during their most challenging times. She approached life with an unmatched passion and a favorite saying that profoundly resonated with those who knew her: "Let Go and Let God." This mantra reflects the grace and positivity with which she faced both the joys and trials of life. Lori had a deep faith that helped her through her life.

Academically, Lori was a proud graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, where she earned her master’s degree in theology. This education laid the foundation for her deep-seated belief in the power of love and empathy, principles she imbued in her day-to-day interactions.

Family was at the heart of Lori's world. She is survived by her devoted husband, William Mercer, whose unwavering support complemented her zest for life. She leaves behind a nurturing legacy in her mother, Patricia Kuether Bausom, and her cherished siblings: Monica Bausom, Sue (Ray) Strack, Mark (Diane) Bausom, Lisa (Tim) Bernethy, Mary Bausom, and sister-in-law Nancy Bausom. Additionally, she will be remembered fondly by her mother-in-law Bonnie J. Mercer, sisters-in-law, Diane Mercer, Julia (Mark) Keifer, and her brother-in-law, John Mercer. She is preceded in death by her father Richard Lee Bausom, brothers Gary and David Bausom, and father-in-law David Mercer.

Lori’s hobbies reflected her creative spirit; she found great joy in card-making, cooking, and baking. These talents expressed her artistic side and served others through which she shared love and warmth with those around her.
