Margaret Jane Slinger

Margaret Jane Slinger, 82 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2023.  She was born on February 18, 1941, in Parson, Kansas.

Margaret was raised on a farm in Kansas.  From her early childhood, on the farm, she learned the value of hard work.  She loved gardening, flowers, birdwatching, crocheting, and doing jigsaw puzzles, camping and fishing.   She was a girl scout leader and a boy scout den mother. She enjoyed helping with the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years Charles R. Slinger, children Valerie Jean (Dana) Nichols, James Edward (Janet) Redstone, Penelope Jo Patton, Rebecca Jill Scott, stepchildren Angela (Dan) Beghtel, Gary Charles Slinger, Robert John Slinger, Mark Stephen Slinger, Cindy (Dan) Smith, David Michael Slinger, sister Sharon Virginia (John) Landers and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Jane Hopkins, parents Edward and Margaret Virginia Vail Bamberry, sister Elizabeth Good.

Margaret’s Life Celebration® visitation will be Monday, June 5 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at O’Riley Branson Funeral Service and Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.  The Order of Christian Funeral will follow at 2:00 PM at O’Riley Branson Funeral Service and Crematory.  Burial will be St. Joseph Cemetery.
