Mary Jane Allison

Mary Jane Allison, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away January 26, 2018. Born in Indianapolis on November 16, 1933 Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Clarence and Myrl (Runner) Allison.

Mary Jane was a graduate of Tech High School and earned her master’s degree in education from Butler University. While attending Butler, she worked in accounts payable at Community Hospital East. She was teacher and reading specialist for IPS for over 25 years and ran her own real estate business, Allison Properties. Mary Jane was a long-time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her siblings, Jack and William Allison, Jean Mann, and JoAnn Fears.

Survivors include her two sisters, Judith Allison of Indianapolis and Emily N. King of Greenwood; her long-time, best friend, Mary Whitsett of Indianapolis; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Mary Jane Allison from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. A eulogy and poem will be shared on Thursday beginning at Noon at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at St. Roch Catholic Church, Indianapolis. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
