Norma A. Covarrubias, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born in El Paso, Texas on June 19, 1946, to the late Raul & Antonia Carrasco. Norma married Abel Covarrubias on September 27, 1987, and would have celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary this year. Norma enjoyed being at home and raising her children. She not only raised her own but was known as the Mama Bear to the neighborhood kiddos as well. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and could often be found at all of their school events cheering them on from the stands. She was witty and her family would tell you that Norma had no filter and if she was thinking about it, she was probably going to say it! She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, dancing, and listening to music.
Norma is survived by her husband; Abel Covarrubias, children; Ernesto Luna, Anna Luna, and Mariano Luna II, grandchildren; Abel, Stephanie, Alyssa, Nicholas, Ernesto Jr., Laura, Christina, Jessica, Elizabeth, Jose, Vanessa, Samantha, Destiny, Orlando, and Gabriella, along with 18 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and siblings; David, Fernando, Jose, Armondo, Grace, Lydia, and Irene.
