Peggy Jo Saunders

Peggy Jo Saunders, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Peggy was born on September 10, 1941 in Sulphur Wells, Kentucky to the late Herman and Helen (Smith) Boston. On August 1, 1964, Peggy was united in marriage to Roy Saunders in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Peggy attended Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Indianapolis. Peggy and Roy enjoyed travelling, especially to Hawaii. More recently, Peggy and Roy enjoyed spending their winters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Peggy could always be found working puzzles or reading a book. Peggy was a very loving and kind person, always looking for a way to care for others. Peggy’s caring spirit made her an excellent wife, mother, and friend.

Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, Cara Zahn.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Roy Saunders; her children, Frank Saunders and Roseann (John) Buergelin; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
