Pierce Douglas Birge

March 7, 2005 — March 10, 2025

Indianapolis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pierce Douglas Birge, who left this world on March 10, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the young age of twenty. Pierce was born on March 7, 2005, to Timmy & Lawana Birge. Pierce was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him, embodying love, laughter, and boundless adventure. His spirit will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues.

At the time of his passing, Pierce was a dedicated Senior Patient Care Tech at Community South Hospital, where he poured his heart into helping others. This was a manifestation of his dream of becoming a Registered Nurse, a goal he aspired to achieve after graduating from Southport High School in 2023 and continuing his education at Ivy Tech. His ambition and passion for caring for others were evident in everything he did.

Pierce was fondly remembered by his family and friends, earning endearing nicknames such as “Our Baby Man,” “Punkers,” “Bubby,” and “Piercawiersa.” His sense of humor was infectious, and he had a penchant for playing practical jokes that brought smiles to the faces of those around him. Ever the playful spirit, Pierce’s daring nature often led his father to keep a watchful eye on him, a testament to his adventurous soul that thrived outside amidst nature’s beauty. Whether camping under the stars or riding his beloved motorcycle, Pierce found joy in the great outdoors, with dreams of one day moving to Alaska.

His relationships were at the core of his essence. Pierce shared an incredibly close bond with his mother, whom he affectionately referred to as “Mudder” or “Goober.” Their connection was one of shared laughter and heartfelt conversations, as he often sought her advice or simply wanted to share a funny story. He held a special relationship with his brother, known as “Kev, the Lumberjack,” and his sister, referred to as “Sis” or “Sissy.” Pierce also cherished the time spent with his grandparents, where the love and respect flowed endlessly.

Despite his young age, Pierce's maturity shone through as he encouraged those around him to pursue their dreams passionately. His unwavering belief in others and his ability to motivate made him a remarkable presence in their lives. He approached life with a brave heart and a disciplined spirit, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he touched.

Pierce is survived by his loving parents; Timmy & Lawana Birge, brother; Kevin (Genevah) Birge, sister; Kaylin Birge, grandparents; Ronald & Janet Jordan, girlfriend; Sarah Johnson, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pierce is preceded in death by Baby Birge, and grandparents; Thomas & Laura Birge.

As we gather to honor Pierce’s memory, we invite friends and loved ones to join us at the Southport Heights Christian Church in Southport, Indiana. A Memorial Gathering will take place on March 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 PM in the church.
