Providence J. Chase

Provi Chase, 76, of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully September 2, 2021. She was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Joseph and Providence (Miceli) Tantillo. Provi graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1963, and attended Marian College, both of which she was a member of the cheerleading teams.

During her time at Marian College, she met the love of her life, Jim Chase. Provi was a long time, devoted member to St. Barnabas Catholic Church, where she was a teacher for a few years before starting her role as a stay at home mom to care for her family. She was active in the Red Hat Society, Christ Renews His Parish, and spent many Tuesdays in the St. Barnabas chapel for Adoration hour. Provi enjoyed golfing, being surrounded by her dear friends, and spending time with her family in The Villages, Florida. She was the number one fan of her grandchildren’s many sports teams, proving her supportive personality and kind heart.

Provi is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James Chase; daughter Michelle Schoettle; grandchildren Kevin, Alyssa, Tyler, and Sam Schoettle; and sisters Maryann (Jim) Agresta, and Scena (Tom) Whitney. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Provey Tantillo, and daughter Kim Chase.

Provi's Life Celebration® Visitation will be on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 10 to 11:30 AM in the O'Riley Funeral Home, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 12:00 PM by Fr. Guy Roberts in St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46217. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association; envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
