Richard A. Johnson, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis. Dick was born October 28, 1937 in Rock Lake, North Dakota to the late Clifford A. Johnson and Helen A. (Nyberg) Matelich.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a computer programmer at Eli Lilly & Company for many years. Dick was a former member of the Southport Lodge #270 F.&A.M. and the Murat Shrine. After his retirement, Dick enjoyed spending time at his homes on Sweetwater Lake and in St. George Island, Florida.
Along with his parents, Dick is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Anna H. Molloy.
Survivors include his daughters, Janet (Phil) Shock of New Port Richey, Florida and Julie (Peter) Molloy of Indianapolis; his brother, Jim Johnson of Indianapolis, two grandchildren, Peter Molloy and Justin Pollard; two great grandchildren; and two nephews, J.R. Johnson, and Michael Johnson.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Dick Johnson from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. Burial will take place privately at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
