Robert L. “Bobby” Busby, 91, Noblesville, passed away August 15, 2022. Mr. Busby was born December 23, 1930, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Lawrence M. and Mildred (Stoker) Busby.
Bob graduated from Anderson High School in 1949, earned a business degree from Indiana University in 1953, and a degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1959. He honorably served in the United States Air Force. He briefly worked for Chicago Bridge & Iron Company and then began a successful career with Geupel DeMars, Inc. in 1964. Bob retired as their executive vice president in 1995. He was a member of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed woodworking, sailing and boating on Lake Wawasee, and was always thinking about the next thing to build. Above all, he was a devoted family man who was happiest cheering on his grandchildren in the activities they love. He especially loved the game of girls’ basketball and was proud of his status as Team Indiana Elite Perry’s #1 Fan. Bob will be fondly remembered for his intelligence, sense of integrity, and delightful sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Betty Jean Clem and her husband, Maurice.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, M. Eileen (O’Connor) Busby, to whom he was united in marriage August 5, 1972; daughter, Colleen S. Scheu and her husband and Bob’s best buddy, Alan; son, Thomas O. Busby and his wife Katie; sisters, JoAnne (the late Dick) Main and Janet (the late Barnes) Latham; granddaughters, Caroline Eileen Scheu, Allison Patricia Scheu, and Neely Catherine Busby.
Bob’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be Tuesday, August 23, 2022, 9:30 to 11 a.m., at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Private interment will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to St. Vincent de Paul Society. O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
