Rosalyn L. (Schmidlin) Quill, 92, Greenwood, passed away August 2, 2021. Mrs. Quill was born February 23, 1929, in Indianapolis, to the late Alphonse and Rosalyn (Rettich) Schmidlin.
Rosalyn graduated from St. Agnes Academy and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. She was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir there for many years. She was an accomplished pianist – playing her concert grand piano that even made two moves with her during retirement years. Rosalyn was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing beautiful flowers. She also bought and sold antiques through the years, often using them to decorate and appoint her home. Rosalyn will be fondly remembered by her loving family and friends for her kindness, strength, and independent manner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard John Quill; infant son, Leonard; brothers, Rev. Donald Schmidlin and Paul Schmidlin.
Survivors include her children, Beth (Tony) DelConte, Thomas (Nancy) Quill, and James Quill; sister, Sr. Mary Schmidlin, OSF; brothers, Joe and Ed Schmidlin; grandchildren, Anthony (Alice) DelConte, Angela DelConte, Becca (Luke) Welch, and Emily Quill.
Friends and family will gather for Rosalyn’s Life Celebration® Visitation and the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m., with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of the Greenwood Music Ministry, 335 S. Meridian Street, Greenwood, IN 46143.
