Steven J. Emrick

Steven Emrick, 61, of Arcanum, Ohio passed on August 16th, 2023, on a mild summer day with weather that he often savored by sitting on his patio and smoking a cigarette while drinking his morning coffee.

He filled his time and enjoyed his short 61 years with many adventures that lead to a great deal of stories and memories, though holidays with his family, giving good and sometimes questionable advice preceded by the words “let me help you out”, pacing the house while talking (loudly and cheerfully) on the phone to his friends, and hunting down the Italian sausage stand at The Great Darke County Fair prior to placing a bet (trifecta, boxed) at the harness races were a few of the notable ones.

He leaves behind a son; Tyler (Whitney) Emrick, daughter; Samantha (Matthew) Griffin, five beautiful and bright grandchildren; Kelsey, Gracen, Mason, Zane and Violet, mother; Judith Emrick, brother; Richard (Cindy) Emrick, sister; Cynthia Emrick, and many, many, friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, James Leon Emrick.

A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held at a later date.
