Susan Marie Shipley

Susan Marie Emig Shipley, aged 65, of Indianapolis, Indiana, born March 14, 1953 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord very suddenly on October 1, 2018 while visiting in New Jersey. Susan graduated from West Chester State College in 1975, with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education. She taught in schools in Pennsylvania and then New Jersey, where she met her husband, Tim. She homeschooled her children through High School, and she loved being Grandmom for the last few years of her life. She is remembered for her infectious laugh, her always cheerful smile, and the joy of the Lord that filled every part of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Timothy Shipley; her children, Paula (Brian) Knowlton , Joshua Shipley, Daniel (Esther) Shipley , Christa Shipley, Michael (Anna) Shipley, Benjamin Shipley, and Joel (Allison) Shipley; her grandchildren, Lydia, Adeline, Ethan, Ava, Moses, Philip, Selah, Joseph, Meredith, Florence, Ezekiel, and Alissa; her sister Nancy (Joe) Heaney, her brother Thomas Emig, her mother-in-law Marian Dolson Shipley Chauncy, and 8 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet (Lew) Ryan.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:30 a.m at Nora Christian Community, 465 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240. Prior to the service there will be a visitation time from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
