Teresa A. Rains

Teresa A. (McHenry) Willis Rains, 50, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at her home. Born in Beech Grove on June 9, 1968, Teresa was the beloved daughter of the late Roger L. McHenry and Marilyn S. (Bryant) Farris; her mother survives and resides in Indianapolis.

Teresa is a former member of Indianapolis Baptist Tabernacle and is currently an active member of Southport Church of the Nazarene.

Along with her father, she cis also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Rains.

Other survivors include her two sons, Justin L. (Abigail Reed) McHenry of Indianapolis, and Dallas J.L. Willis of Indianapolis; two brothers, J.R. (Stephanie Meek) Farris, II of Indianapolis, and Brian J. “Buzzard” (Deanna) Farris of Indianapolis; two sisters, Penny S. (Gary) Tumey of Indianapolis, and Tammy S. (Kevin) Black of Plainfield; and her beloved Pitbull/Lab, Olivia.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Teresa A. Rains from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Southport Church of the Nazarene, 920 E. Southport Road, Indianapolis. Pastor Bill Swesey will conduct the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Burial will take place at Concordia Cemetery privately and at a later date.
