Wanda Fay Sears, 82, Indianapolis, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016. She was born in Indianapolis on October 26, 1933 to Henry H. and Violet Fox Smith. Wanda was employed by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and worked as a caretaker at St. Patrick Catholic Church. She spent much of her free time as a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul and the St. Patrick Food Pantry. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert L. Sears; grandson, Steven Donald Christian; and her son-in-law, Steven Eugene Christian. She is survived by her children, Robert L. Sears II (Diane), William "Billy" Sears (Aliecia), Marsha Christian Dillon (Tom), Terri Lynne Miller (Brian); brother-in-law, Duane Mitchell; uncle, Wally Fox; 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to the Madison Health Care, (activity fund), 7465 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227.
