Wesley H. Jones

Wesley Heywood Jones, 77, Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2024. Born on June 12, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Heywood and Ruth (Ammerman) Jones, Wes married Mary Jane Martin on August 14, 1971, and she survives. 

He was a proud Purdue University alum, earning his bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1970, a Master of Science in Industrial Administration in 1971, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing Research in 1975. Wes was a true Boilermaker! 

He worked as a professor at the University of Kentucky, University of Indianapolis, and Western Governor’s University. He was also an employee of the DuPont Company in Wilmington, Delaware. He was an ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church, last serving at St. Ann Parish in Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane; and children, Ellen C. Jones and Martin H. (Anna Bridge) Jones; brother, Craig (Jennie) Jones; sisters, Louise (Andrew) Strayhorn and Cathy (Greg) Dabney.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., in St. Ann Catholic Church, 6350 S. Mooresville Road, Indianapolis, with visitation there from 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
