John Albert Neu II, 65 of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, March 03, 2022, at his home. He was born June 21, 1956, in Beech Grove.
John grew up with Rock and Roll music and it stayed with him to the very end. You would find him listening to the Beatles and old time Rock and Roll. John played the guitar and was a song writer. Playing and writing gave him joy in his life.
John had worked in the family business John A. Neu Furniture. John’s love for the lake began as a child at his Grandma and Grandpa Neu’s lake house, lake Manitou, where he spent hours boating with his dad. He spent the summers with his siblings and cousins swimming, fishing, and enjoying fresh blue gill, homemade pies, and family time. Later he spent every weekend at the family lake house in Martinsville. He cherished every minute he could cruising around the lake in the speed boat, taking his friends and family tubing, skiing, and wake boarding. He took great pride in the family boat and was excited for lake time every time summer rolled around.
John is proceeded in death by his parents John and Alice Germaine Neu.
He is survived by his siblings JoAnn Dawson (twin sister), Steve Neu, Sandy (Eric) Simpson, David (Erin) Neu, his 19 nieces and nephews Michelle (Mike) Berger, Amy (Dan) Gandolph, Christina (Chris) Erazmus, Joey Dawson, Katelyn Dawson, David (Brittany) Neu Jr., Mackenzie (Jesse) Purvis, Alex Neu, Emily (Cole) Goodman, Nick Neu, Anthony (Courtney) Neu, Ruth, Brady, Sam and Charlie Neu, Eric II, Johnathon, Reis, and Dominic Simpson and 20 great nieces and nephews.

Being a friend of the family for many years I was always delighted to see Jon at family gatherings or hanging out at Jeanene’s house . Jon was always so kind and enjoyable to be around . His humor entertained as his soft spoken demeanor made you feel right at home . His memory will be cherished by so many . Rest easy Jon

John was a really good man. He was so loved by everyone! He taught me the guitar and how to fix my computer! He’s a genius ߑ God love him R.I.P John, love you so much!
My thoughts & prayers are with his family in this difficult time. RIP John
John and I very close for a lot of years. We both went separate ways in the early 90’s and lost track of each other. I’d have to say I knew John as a close friend for close to or more than 40 years!

Sooo sad to hear about his passing. He was a great friend to all, and a very nice man to me. I knew John since high school, and also the family he loved so much. He took care of everyone, and loved doing it. He loved the rock group Queen, music and cooking. He had an herb garden and treasured every moment in life. He always made sure to stay in touch with people. After we dated in the late 70s, he visited my mother in Indy until 2021. What a good soul. To his family and friends: he loved with a great big Italian heart! We’ll never forget him. May the best of him he live on through us. God bless his soul. We will miss you on earth John Neu.
