Donna J. Clark

May 16, 1944 ~ July 5, 2021
Donna J. Clark, 77, Indianapolis, passed away July 5, 2021, after a brief illness. Donna was born May 16, 1944, in Lebanon, Indiana, to the late Donald and Fillian Irene (Hanks) Woodard. She married Richard W. Clark on June 27, 1966, and he survives.
Donna graduated from Fishers High School and attended beauty school. She practiced as a hair dresser long enough to purchase a Ford Mustang Convertible. Donna was employed at USAirways for 25 years, retiring in 2000. She was also the owner and operator of Clarks Petals, a floral and balloon design business. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Donna lived life to the fullest – she loved to play golf, enjoyed gardening, various crafts, playing cards every Thursday, and loved walks in the park with Richard. She had an adventurous spirit and never turned down an opportunity to travel. She enjoyed trips to visit Richard’s family in upstate New York, Florida with her girlfriends, and San Francisco with her daughter Lisa. Donna’s life became complete with the addition of her only grandchild, Quinn. She loved to spoil him, but most of all, Donna knew the importance of spending time with him. She will be fondly remembered for her outgoing personality and gentle nature.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Woodard.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Richard; daughter, Lisa (David) Murphy; son, Bryan Clark; grandson, Quinn Murphy.
Donna’s Life Celebration® visitation and service will be held at the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. I knew Donna through the amazing gift she gave us in her daughter Lisa. So much like her mom and my best friend. I’m sorry for your loss. Your mom was incredible. So wonderful to have grandparents so involved. She never missed a game or performance. Her love of Quinn was beautiful to see. He will miss her too but what a great childhood to be able to spend it with your grandparents. So lucky! I know you will miss her everyday but I believe she will live through you and all those memories you can treasure always. All my love to your family. Lesa & Lou & Vivian & Reese.

Donna and I became friends through our work in the airline office, then continued after our retirement at VonMaur Department store around the piano with many pleasant visits. Always was her concern for others health, a shocker to learn of her demise, truly a void in lives that knew her! A ‘good’ child of God!
In memory of a SWEET wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. We will miss you Donna!
Dick and Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Our deepest Sympathy she will be missed
They say you cant pick family but I was fortunate to pick the best mother in law in the world. I can not put into words the void in my heart for Donna. She never left a game or when we were together without saying “where is my hug” I am eternally grateful for her and calling me her son after the loss of my parents. I am a better person because of her and the gift she gave me in her daughter Lisa. You will always be there with us and every game I will think of you Donna. Your son in law Dave
Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
I’m so sorry to hear of Donna’s passing. I worked with her at US Air and ran into her many times over the past few years. What a wonderful woman and human being. God called an angel home. Rest in heavenly peace Donna.
She touched so many lives in a positive way, and set such a great example of travelling the high road with grace. Prayers to her family, the world has lost someone special!
