Kelsey Kay Lanning, 19, Indianapolis and Kokomo, passed away February 15, 2018. Kelsey was born January 7, 1999, in Indianapolis to David Lanning and Karyn (Laxen) Lanning.
She attended McKinley High School in Kokomo and had worked as a laborer at PHM and also at the McDonalds in Decatur Township in Indianapolis. Kelsey enjoyed scrapbooking, drawing, music, camping, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and was a beautiful, strong-willed young woman who impacted many lives during her far too brief life.
Survivors include her mother, Karyn Lanning (Scotty Mathews); father, David Lanning (Lisa Bozymski); brothers, Kacey Griffith and Codey Lanning; maternal grandmother, Jackie Laxen; paternal grandmother, Debra Irvin; aunts and uncles, Daniel and Kelly Laxen, Paul Laxen, Justin Laxen, and Angie Couch; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St., Indianapolis, with visitation there from 5 p.m. Cremation will follow services. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Kokomo to accommodate friends in that community. My heartfelt sympathy to each of you. No other pain will ever be greater than the pain of losing a child. Our heavenly Father knows the difficulities you are facing. Through his Word he helps us to understand why death occurs and what he will in the near future to rectify the grief that we undergo due to losing our loved ones to this aged-old-enemy (death).
