Daniel Martin Myers

Daniel Martin Myers, 87, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully March 14, 2017. Mr. Myers was born in Indianapolis on September 23, 1929, to the late Wilbur and Anna (Galm) Myers.
He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1947 and from the Parks College of Engineering at St. Louis University in 1951. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserves during the Korean War. Mr. Myers worked 38 years for the Allison Division of General Motors as an Aeronautical Engineer, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and the Msgr. M. Downey Council 3660 Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Marie Myers.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Anne (Hoereth) Myers; children, Michael (Jeanne), James (Nancy), Clare, and Andrew (Becky) Myers, Mary (Paul) Sheets, Laura (Erick) Heinrich and Joan (Joe) Bellitto; 19 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017, 4 to 8 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St. (US Hwy. 31 South), where morning prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, in St. Barnabas Catholic Church. mrs myers im so sorry about your husband im pat & rhea jones son both of my parents are gone now my dad died in march 2012 take care & stay strong i doubt laura remembers me from grade school
