Debra Ruth Wilson

July 16, 1957 ~ July 29, 2024
Debra Ruth Wilson, 67, Greenwood, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Deb was born July 16, 1957, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Elwood “Woody” and Ruth Isabelle (Stoner) Hull.
Deb grew up in Chambersburg and graduated from Chambersburg Area Junior/Senior High School and earned a degree from the Indiana Business College. An incredibly organized and bright person, Deb enjoyed a successful career as an executive assistant. She was employed for the past fourteen years at Cummins Engine and previously worked for ten years at Douglas MacArthur Elementary School in Perry Township. Deb touched many lives and was an exceptional cheerleading coach for many years at Perry Meridian High School.
The planning and execution of parties, gatherings, and events was one of Deb’s greatest talents and gifts. She had a wonderful gift to make people feel welcome, and she was a very gracious host. Her ability to connect with people was exceptional. Deb could utilize any passage of time as a reason to throw a party, and she did. She loved to play cards, blackjack, and vacation with her family. A family tradition that was created by Deb was ringing in one’s 21st birthday in Vegas. Sunday dinners with family were not to be missed. Her Pennsylvania Dutch genes came through as she lovingly cooked wonderful meals for her family and friends. Deb will be fondly remembered for her compassionate nature, her strength, and her honesty.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Elwood Hull, Jr.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Charles Douglas Wilson (Doug), to whom she was united in marriage on December 11, 2004; children, Jennifer Ruth Moyer (Andy) Kocher, Michael Tyler Wilson, Jessica Lynn Wilson, and Nichole Marie Wilson (Matt) Hood; brother, William (Ann) Hull; two adored grandchildren, Charles Andrew and Ruth Carolyn Kocher.
A service to remember, honor, and celebrate Deb’s life will begin at 7 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, in St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Following the service, all are invited to continue in the celebration of Deb’s life in the Parish Life Center (gym) at St. Mark. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Save Our Monarchs Foundation. Please refrain from wearing black unless you are Teresa or Fr. Tim. Doug and family, please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. 10 years ago, when I started with Cummins Deb was one of the first EA’s I met and worked closely with for about 18 months. I am heartbroken for each of you, and this is a tremendous loss. May she rest in peace, and I will keep each of you in my thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are to Doug, Jen and all Deb’s family and friends. Deb was so much a part of our blended familles. So many memories over the years I have. The first one was of her and a very young Jen doing somersaults in their front yard next to mine. She asked me how the neighborhood was, my reply was except for them, pointing to my home, everyone else was great. She laughed, and the rest was history. I will always remember the holidays our families shared and so many field trips we took together. The most memorable one was to Chambersburg Pa, “I loved Chambersburg”….most likely because Deb was from there. I will miss you until we meet again. Rest in Heaven my friend.
