Richard W. Clark

Richard W. Clark, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 81. Born on April 24, 1943, in Saranac Lake, New York, to the late Russell & Nora Clark, Richard lived a life rich with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. He married the love of his life, Donna, on June 27, 1965, in Fishers, Indiana.

Richard was a graduate of St. Pius High School, class of 1962, in Saranac Lake, New York. Richard dedicated over 35 years of his professional life as a Chemist at Eli Lilly, where his unmatched work ethic shone brightly. His education began with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Indiana, setting the foundation for a career that he not only excelled in but truly cherished. Colleagues and friends admired his passion for his work and the joy he found in scientific discovery.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Richard exemplified duty and service, qualities he carried into his personal life. He was a devoted Christian man, and his faith served as a guiding light for him throughout his life. Richard embraced every moment with a warm heart, always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, an embodiment of selflessness and compassion.

Family meant everything to Richard. He was a loving father who cherished the time spent with his children, always making sure to create lasting memories. His beloved grandson held a special place in his heart, and Richard never missed an opportunity to be a part of his life. Richard's love for his wife, Donna, was immeasurable, and he often described a perfect day spent together on the golf course, basking in each other's company.

Known for his great sense of humor, Richard had an infectious laugh that was matched only by his love for a good joke. Whether cheering on the New York Yankees or the Indianapolis Colts, he was a passionate sports fan who shared many joyful moments with friends and family, each filled with laughter and excitement.

Richard is survived by his loving children; Lisa (David) Murphy & Bryan Clark, grandson; Quinn Murphy, and brothers; Arthur (Susie) Clark & Steven (Faye) Clark.

As we remember Richard, we celebrate a life well-lived, characterized by love, dedication, and joy. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength, a testament to the profound impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him. Richard W.   1. I’m so sorry for your loss. I was a neighbor of Dick’s (and Donna). They were always very kind and thoughtful. I know he will be missed. Wishing you all some peace.

  2. A genuinely christian soul! He and his wife Donna, always were caring and had a kind word. They were a couple that always brought a ray of light wherever they were. I so miss them both. In their own way, they left this world a better place, they have gone on to receive their heaven reward they so justly deserve and earned. Two christian lives lived out through the Cross of Jesus.
