Amanda Nicole Blahunka

Amanda Blahunka, born on June 27, 2002, left this world too soon on March 12, 2025, at the age of 22. Her vibrant spirit, fierce independence, and loving nature touched the lives of many, creating an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.

A graduate of Center Grove High School, Class of 2020. Amanda showcased her kindness and love for others in her work as a dental assistant. She lit up every day with her bright smile and infectious laughter, making her a remarkable friend to all around her.

Outside of her professional life, Amanda's heartbeat for her love of horses. She dedicated over a decade to 4-H, where her passion flourished, and her spirit soared alongside these majestic creatures. She loved sharing her love of horses to young people by training and teaching them how to ride horses, and jumped at any chance to help them prepare for horse shows. A true embodiment of the adage "work hard, play hard", nothing delighted her more than attending country music concerts or line dancing with her “2nd mom and dad” Carla and Billy.

Amanda was known for her sharp wit and great sense of humor, which never failed to bring joy to those lucky enough to be in her presence. She was smart, vivacious, and a beacon of light, illuminating any room she entered. Beyond her remarkable personality, Amanda was deeply devoted to her family; her proudest accomplishments were the moments spent as the best big sister to her siblings, Krista and Evan.

Amanda is survived by her loving parents; Dave & Cindy Blahunka, sister; Krista Blahunka, brother; Evan Blahunka, grandma; Joy Molter, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Ted & Arlene Blahunka, Grandpa; Don Molter, and Uncle; John Peters.

Her untimely departure leaves a void that will never be filled; however, the love she cultivated in her brief time with us will endure. To honor Amanda’s life, a Mass will be held at Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Greenwood, IN, on March 20, 2025, commencing at 3:00 PM. Following the Mass, friends and family are invited to gather in her memory at O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Indianapolis from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Guestbook

  1. Dave and Cindy, please accept our sincere condolences on Amanda’s passing. I loved hearing about her activities, horses, and time at the fair.

  2. Our hearts goes out to you all during this incredibly difficult time. Please know we are here for you and praying continuously. Love and hugs. The Welch Family

  3. We could honestly write a book about Amanda. She was an angel on earth. She was always so kind, loving, and had the patience of Job. She loved to help my girls' any chance she got at the barn and at all the horse shows. If she wasn't showing, she would be at the fence line cheering the kiddos on. She helped us move Cally, the first horse we bought, to a new barn and was so happy for Kiki and Cally to grow together as the best team. She would come out when she could to give Kiki lessons, which Kiki always admired her wealth of knowledge. Some of my favorite memories of Amanda are from hanging out at the barn. I will never regret staying out a little too late on a school night so the girls could hang out at the barn with Amanda. After riding lessons, clean up, and chores, she and the kids, aka "barn rats" would stick around to hang out, sometimes for hours. Listening to country music, dancing (trying to teach Scarlet how to dance-hilarious), and being goofy. She will be terribly missed. We are incredibly thankful for the years we got to spend with her and all the memories made, even though that will never be enough. Her legacy will live on in all the lives that she touched. We remember, we honor, we will carry you in our hearts.

  4. We’re so incredibly sorry for your loss. Every memory we have of Amanda is filled with her happiness and bright smile. My daughters absolutely adored her, and even after we were at different barns, she always stood on the sidelines, cheering them on. It’s heartbreaking to try to comprehend something like this, but please know that in her short time here, she was deeply loved and made a lasting impact on so many. Our hearts are with you and your family.

  5. Dave, Cindy , & Krista, I can’t imagine the pain you are going thru. Amanda was always smiling when she came over as the kids played outside. She always loved all the animals and loved showing me her new puppy. She has been taken way too soon and I know all your hearts are broken but , her memories will live on forever in you. She was one of a kind. May you all feel our prayers & hugs at this difficult time.
