We are celebrating the life of Daniel Joseph Shine, a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. Born on December 1, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Daniel was a lifelong resident who took great pride in his city and its people.
Daniel graduated from Southport High School, where he forged lasting friendships and found his early passions in life. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was celebrated for his entrepreneurship as the owner of Shine Realty. Known for his integrity and dedication, Daniel helped countless families in Indianapolis find their dream homes, contributing significantly to the growth and happiness of the community he loved.
A man of many interests, Daniel had a great passion for cars, especially Corvettes. His enthusiasm for these vehicles was well-known and often the highlight of his conversations. Additionally, he loved boating on Lake Monroe, where he spent many joyful summers with family and friends, creating lasting memories on the waters that he so admired.
Daniel leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Karen; daughter Susie (Neil) Shine-Talevski; grandchildren Jordan and Danielle Talevski; his brother Mike Shine and sister Debbie (Duane) Shine Huffines; and his brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Debi Clark. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Donald J. and Mary Ann Glass Shine, and his brother and sister-in law Tom and Merlin Shine.
Visitation for Daniel will be Monday, April 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Cremation will follow, with a private burial of his ashes at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

Karen I am so sorry for your loss. My thought and prayers are with you in this difficult time.
Danny was a good friend. He was a quiet friend when it came to doing things for people he cared about.
A few years ago, was off work for 9 weeks after having a hysterectomy, and Danny would have pizza delivered twice a week to me and my kids.
I am devastated for Karen and all their friends and family. I will miss him immensely.
Karen and Family: May the Lord give you strength and peace in your time of bereavement. Danny may be gone from your sight, but he will always be in your heart.
Dan and I joined the Army June 8, 1965 went through Basic were discharged June 9,1958. He was my longtime friend and will be missed dearly. RIP my friend. My condolences to his Wife and Family! 🙏🏻

Danny was a great friend of my dad Danny McClara and Bob Hendickson. I can remember a lot of good times with all of them as a child. Danny was are go to guy for a house. Danny used to hang with my dad at my Aunt Judy’s bar, The filling Station on South Madison Avenue. So sorry for your loss Karen and family.
Danny was a great friend to my dad, Danny McClara and Bob Hendrickson, John Neal. Danny used to come in my Aunt Judy’s Bar (The Filing Station). Danny helped me with buying my first home in Beech Grove. He will be sadly missed but, he going to join a lot of his friends and family. Brad and Jonh Foster and the list goes on!
